The haversack used by US soldiers during World War 1 and 2 was not liked. Originally developed in 1910, the haversack was a collection of flaps and straps that would be folded and strapped together to make a pack. The idea was that it could only carry the necessary items for soldiers.

This example is missing the meat can pouch (this was to carry the mess kit and utensils).
The straps and buckles are in good shape and are all present. There are some stains and rust spots, but the overall shape of the haversack is good. I've even used it for my WW2 impression.

There is a smudged laundry number on the inside and a manufacturing marking on the back, dated 1941 in Waco, TX.
