The haversack used by US soldiers during World War 1 and 2 was not liked. Originally developed in 1910, the haversack was a collection of flaps and straps that would be folded and strapped together to make a pack. The idea was that it could only carry the necessary items for soldiers.
This example is a "British Made" haversack. These haversacks were made in the UK for US soldiers as part of an agreement to replay the US for the lend-lease act, where the UK would make field equipment as a form of payment to the US.
This overall haversack is in great shape with some small stains and storage wear. The meatcan pouch is dated 1944, and the haversack is dated 1945. The shoulder straps are reproductions, but everything else is original.
